2 Corinthians - Part 17 – 13.1-14 — Final Warnings

Paul finishes his letter to the Corinthians by warning them that he will come to discipline those in need of it and encouraging them to test themselves to see if they were truly in the faith. 

2 Corinthians - Part 16 – 12.11-21 — Concern for the Corinthians

Paul gives another distinctive of a true Apostles - doing signs, wonders and mighty works.  He also continues to show his care for the Corinthians Christians by encouraging them to repent and indicating he will come to discipline them.

2 Corinthians - Part 15 – 12.1-10 — Paul’s Vision and Thorn

Paul mentions his experience of being caught up in to Paradise but refrains from revealing what he saw.

He also reveals that God allowed a "thorn in the flesh" to continue to torment him even though Paul prayed for it to be taken away.

2 Corinthians - Part 14 – 11.16-33 — Paul’s Suffering as an Apostle

With an eye toward combating false teaching in Corinth, Paul writes about his suffering for the gospel

2 Corinthians - Part 13 – 11.1-15 — False Apostles

Paul warns against false Apostles, disguised Angels and disguised Servants

2 Corinthians - Part 12 – 10.1-18 — Paul Defends his Ministry

The Apostle Paul continues to defend his Apostolic ministry to the church in Corinth.  

In doing so Paul gives a key biblical definition of spiritual warfare - to "demolish arguments set up against the knowledge of God"

2 Corinthians - Part 11 – 9.1-15 — The Cheerful Giver

Paul encourages the Corinthian Christians to give "cheerfully, not under compulsion" to the work of the gospel.  He reminds them that God's Grace comes through Jesus and is sufficient for us to live a life worthy of Him.

2 Corinthians - Part 10 – 8.1-24 — Encouraging Giving

Paul encourages the Corinthian Christians to help the Jerusalem Christians with generous financial gifts - because they all follow the same Lord Jesus.  He encourages them to give within their means as God has blessed them.

2 Corinthians - Part 9 – 7.1-16 — Paul’s Joy

Even though our heart/spirit/soul can only be changed and cleansed by the Holy Spirit - we are to "cleanse ourselves" with effort by focusing on the person of Jesus - including His commandments that we try to follow, with His help, to show that we Love Him.

 

2 Corinthians - Part 8 – 6.1-18 — The Temple of the Living God

Paul cautions the Corinthian Christians to not "receive the grace of God in vain" by distorting it or underestimating its power.

He also instructs them that they should not have deep relationships with non-believers because they are now the dwelling place of God (God's temple) and this should be the most important thing in their life.
